Technology
Technology, actually
by Julia L., Pearson 6th Grade Center
Technology is a tool that is helpful in many ways. Some technology things include watches, iPads, and phones. Do you know that paper and pencils are technology, too? Some things around us don’t seem like technologies, but they actually are! Things that aren’t in use much are actually technology. For example: a brick! Things that are technologic have an inspiration on everyone. Technology has everything to do with life. Even things that aren’t technologic. For example, cement. Most things are made in factories, and factories have to do with technology, too.

Technology is a part of everyday life
by Morgan L., Anoka
Technology is a part of everyday life! I use technology in my everyday life, from using words to type up a paper or finding a song that I dance to. Rebekah W, Coon Rapids Middle School, says, “I go on technology about 30 minutes a day.” Technology is a part of everyday life.

A Comeback of Letters?
by Alvia R., Little Canada
I interviewed several volunteers about technology who were helping kids find their way around Bethel College at the Young Authors Conference March 19. They all agreed that technology has changed a lot, and changed the way families communicate. A woman named Carolyn likes the advantages of technology when she travels, such as being able to send photos and FaceTiming to share her experiences with her children and grandchildren.
But she said there are bad sides to technology, too. She says if there aren’t limits on it, families don’t communicate face to face and kids use it too much. They just email, phone, or text all the time. “That takes away from family” she said. When Carolyn was young, people sent paper letters through the mail, with stamps on them. “You know, like birthday cards.” She thinks they still should send cards and letters, and also still use technology—just not all the time.

Perspectives on Technology: Past, Present, and Future
by Lydia M.
It is shown that people think very highly of technology and electronics. I interviewed some people and here is what they said: “I think technology is getting overrated and ridiculous.” “What’s next, phones implanted in our hands?” Other people are saying that it’s amazing what we have done, but sometimes it seems scary. What will happen in the future?
I asked some people what they don’t like about technology. Here is what they said: “I think human beings depend too much on technology.” If you interviewed the people from the pioneer times, they would probably say, “Why do you need technology? We are capable of so much more!”
What will happen with technology in the future? Only time will tell.
