Dreams
No dream is too small
by Lauren C., Centennial Middle School
Dreams come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. Some people dream of being a celebrity or doing professional sports. Other people dream of having enough food and being able to survive. Tom Deegan, a volunteer at the Young Authors Conference, says that one of his childhood dreams was to be a luge racer in the Olympics. More practical goals were also on his mind: “I wanted to finish school” he says, “then I wanted to go to college.” Although some of us dream big, no dream is too small.

Flying, Giants, and learning to read
by Amanda B., Shakopee School
I have been learning about dreams. I interviewed three people: Miss Slinger, Angel, and Sunny. Miss Slinger has had a reoccurring dream where a giant was attacking her house and she would have to protect her family. Angel has a dream that he keeps flying and ends up at Bethel University. Sunny had a dream that his older sister who is 90 years old and blind keeps teaching him how to read.
